This is the type of art that I want adornig my walls! Beautiful, uplifting, optimistic, colourful and feminine.
Hang Ong is an emerging illustrator/painter/mixed media artist from Adelaide, South Australia. Who I am sure is slowly gathering a cult following. She works mainly in a 2D medium, but has also leant her designs to small ceramic pieces as well.
Her most recent works (exhibited during the South Autralian Living Artists festival 2012) are some of my favourites.
Her imagery including flowers, sugar skulls, birds and bold use of colour (oranges, yellows, pinks and turquoise) gives her work a modern bohemian feel. They will brighten up any wall space and I'd LOVE to see them as digital prints on garments (hint hint).
I'm particularly coveting the piece "For the Past, Loved and Forgotten", which I can definitely see hanging in the BE studio, along with my collections of dyed semi-precious stones used in the Wild Card SS12 collection.
I definitely cannot wait to see more from this dynamic and talented woman.
